ANS Trial Systems
The trial is the essential first step in successful spinal cord stimulation therapy. It can determine if neurostimulation is appropriate for the patient and, if so, what device and lead configuration will provide the most pain relief.
ANS’ MTS® trial system features wide parameter ranges and the versatility to power up to 16 electrodes—allowing an accurate assessment of an individual patient’s requirements with regard to power consumption, electrode combinations, and lead configuration. This assessment is necessary to accurately determine which type of neurostimulation system (RF or IPG) will provide the best long-term pain relief.
The MTS trial system is capable of delivering up to 24 physician-prescribed, patient-selectable programs. This allows patients to evaluate a wider range of programs—further improving the probability that they will achieve sufficient pain relief. It also involves patients more fully in their therapy, which has been shown to improve patient satisfaction and compliance.
Key features
- Broadest offering of compatible trial leads
- Wide range of parametric outputs
- Integrated diagnostics
- Advanced programming options MultiStim® and PC-Stim® technology
- Compatible with the Rapid Programmer®
- Constant current delivery
Features and Benefits
- Accurate diagnostic tool—Allows both low- and high-power outputs for evaluation of IPG- and RF-type SCS parameters. Provides accurate evaluation of therapeutic options for permanent system implantation, and provides clinical information to help determine which type of device offers the best pain relief.
- Improved pain relief—Enables patients to try multiple programs to increase the probability that a successful stimulation program will be identified. Additionally, the literature shows that patients who have the ability to be more involved in their therapy through PC-Stim are more satisfied with their therapy.(3,4)
- Higher power capabilities—Allows observation and comparison of patient response to IPG- and RF-type SCS parameters. This is particularly helpful in assessing the response to higher frequency outputs, activation of four (4) or more electrodes, and the use of multiple programs.
- Multiple programs—Facilitate broad coverage and increase the probability of a successful trial for patients with complex pain patterns. Different programs can be selected to cover pain patterns that change in intensity or location—providing flexibility, improving pain relief options, and empowering patients to take control of their pain management therapy.(3,4,7)
