Lamitrode Paddle Leads

ANS offers a comprehensive line of Lamitrode® paddle leads for versatility in treating the spectrum of pain patterns. This line includes traditional Lamitrode, Lamitrode C-SeriesTM, Lamitrode S-SeriesTM , and Lamitrode TripoleTM 8 paddle leads. With the variety of electrode configurations available, spinal cord stimulation systems can be customized to fit individual patient needs—from single extremity, unilateral pain to diffuse, multifocal complaints.

Traditional Lamitrode Leads

Shielded to provide unidirectional stimulation, Lamitrode® leads enhance precision in delivering energy. This focused energy delivery not only helps improve the efficacy of the therapy but also enables stimulation at lower amplitude settings, resulting in greater system longevity.1-2

Features and Benefits

  • Small, closely spaced electrodes on Lamitrode 88, 44, and 8 models result in a more focused current field. This facilitates recruitment of desired nerve fibers before unwanted, and sometimes painful, nerve root stimulation occurs.(3,4,6,7,8,12)

  • A longer electrode span (Lamitrode 88 and 8) provides multidermatomal coverage and allows noninvasive electronic repositioning of stimulation coverage to compensate for changes in the pain pattern.(3,4,5,7,10,11)

  • Dual-array models (Lamitrode 88 and 44) allow symmetrical placement on each side of the midline to facilitate midline dorsal column fiber recruitment and bilateral stimulation coverage through transverse stimulation.(6)

  • Suture holes and the inherent stability of the paddle design reduce the risk of movement and subsequent loss of effective paresthesia.

Lamitrode C-Series™ Leads

The Lamitrode C-Series leads represent a major breakthrough in surgical lead design. Their curved design approximates the curvature of the epidural space between the dura and the ligamentum flavum, facilitating lead placement and helping reduce lead migration from the midline of the spinal cord. Furthermore, the 2.0 mm lateral spacing between electrodes increases the probability of bilateral stimulation.

Features and Benefits

  • Curved design helps the lead self-center to the midline of the spinal cord, facilitating lead placement.

  • Wider electrode spacing increases the probability of bilateral stimulation.

  • The lead blank, included with the Lamitrode C-Series leads, features a radiopaque marker for easy visualization under fluoroscopy.

Lamitrode S-Series™ Leads

The Lamitrode S-Series leads represent another major breakthrough in surgical lead design. Their small profile, the smallest paddle lead profile available, makes a less invasive procedure possible.

Features and Benefits

  • Small profile allows smaller laminectomy and increases ease of insertion

  • Integrated stylet improves steering and control during paddle placement

  • Can be combined for multiple-array configurations

Lamitrode Tripole™ 8 Lead

The Lamitrode Tripole 8 lead, with its unique tripolar electrode array, is designed to provide focused stimulation through the use of lateral anodal blocking. This blocking minimizes the potential for unwanted stimulation of the dorsal root.

Features and Benefits

  • Unique 3-column array promotes anodal blocking to confine stimulation to the midline9-10

  • Six midline electrodes facilitate precise targeting
